BEAGLE RESCUE OF SOUTHERN MARYLAND

Beagle Rescue of Southern Maryland is dedicated to saving beagles and placing them in loving homes.

Our beagles come in as strays, from shelters, and as owner surrenders. We do all we can to help every beagle who crosses our path.

Standards for Adoption

These standards for adoption are non-negotiable in order to ensure the safety and health of all adopted beagles. This includes how the dog will be cared for in their prospective new home, information on adoption fees, and your responsibilities as a pet owner.

Adopter Profile

The Adopter Profile tells us about the type of home you are going to provide a dog and lets us determine if we have such a dog. Our objective is to find the perfect home from the dog's point of view, so cigar-smoking poker-playing dogs go to cigar-smoking poker-playing homes, and impeccably-mannered Sunday-school dogs go to . . . well, you get the picture. We want our dogs to be comfortable and happy.

Watching beagles blossom into playful and affectionate companions has been a joy because they are such sweet dogs.

Alex Cross

Munchkin's Adoptive Dad

I adopted my first beagle in 2010, and 4 more at separate times. Knowing you’re giving an older dog a chance to live the good life is the greatest feeling in the world.

Each dog added joy to my life, especially around holidays: we met Santa and the Easter Bunny! Helping a dog that is older or has disabilities is an even greater feeling.
