Meet Elmer!

Elmer is estimated to be about 11 years old.  He is a very sweet senior beagle who has had a bit of a whirlwind few weeks since his freedom ride with BRSM.  It was suspected that Elmer had Kennel Cough, but when he arrived at his foster home he was feeling very unwell.  A quick trip to the vet the next day and he had been diagnosed with not only an Upper Respiratory Infection but also a list of other ailments and is Heartworm Positive.

He’s been resting up and has recovered from his URI and his personality is starting to show.  In true beagle form he wants whatever food he thinks you may have, and he’s not afraid to ask.  He is starting to get more energetic and is playing some with the resident beagle, and even runs off with her favorite toys to his crate when he thinks she’s not looking.  Things that go boom (fireworks and thunder) are definitely NOT on his list of favorite things, and would much rather just stay in his crate during those events.

Elmer would love a home with another older beagle, or even a younger one that can be gentle in their play, but would also be happy to have just human companionship as well.
