Meet Cookies!
Cookies is a 4-year-old Beagle mix, weighing about 36 lbs, who is looking for a fresh start after losing his home due to his family moving overseas. He previously came from a rescue that closed down, and he’s remained a gentle, well-mannered dog. He is housebroken, crate trained, can be trusted alone in the home, and has lived successfully with teenagers.
He is shy but warms up quickly with a gentle touch. He was very nervous when he first came to stay with us, but with a lot of love and cuddles, he has really come out of his shell. He wants to trust and does best when people move slowly and calmly with him—once he feels safe, he walks nicely on a leash and shows his sweet nature. He has lived with another dog before, but will need slow introductions to feel comfortable.
Cookies would truly benefit from a quieter home where he can decompress and rebuild his confidence. With patience and kindness, he has so much potential to blossom into a loyal, loving companion. If you’re willing to give a shy dog the time he needs, Cookies will be worth it.
Cookies does well with other pups in group daycare. He would do well in a home with older children. Cookies would make a wonderful companion and couch potato, but also loves going on walks.
