Meet Beau, formerly known as Bones. He may have only been skin and bones at rescue, but Beau has earned and lives up to his new name Beau. This beautiful foxhound will steal your heart and your pillow!
He did not take long to settle into his foster home and show the pack his charming personality. Beau was listed as 5-yrs old, but we think he may be a little younger and has some puppy behaviors. Like most hounds, he lets his nose guide him and often that is on a counter or table where “treats” are found. Beau has not shown a strong prey drive around smaller animals and pretty much ignored some kittens he met.
He gets along well with other dogs, shows no signs of resource guarding, but will eat any leftover food from other dogs’ bowls. Want a dog that loves to cuddle and keep your lap warm while binge-watching holiday movies? Beau is your guy! He walks decently on a leash and is working on basic commands.
He is food motivated — cause hounds are just tall beagles and always down for a snack! Beau would do well in an active home and his temperament is suitable for first-time dog and/or hound owners. He loves children and did well meeting children of all sizes and ages at his 1st adoption event.
